For the one hand the video
workshop gives a technical access/introduction into the production (digital
camera) and post-production (digital cut) of videofilm. For the other hand the
workshop aims to discuss the intersection/connection of Gender and Urbanism.
The subject should be discussed by all participants of the workshop and related
to the issues, short cinematic concepts should be realised afterwards together.
There are no limits
regarding the way of dealing with the topic or the choice of the format. The
different concepts and the production of the short videos should be realised in
2 groups of 3-4 people.
Via/by means of the medium
video we want to approach the topic city – space – gender.
It is not intended to
present specific results but instead to work with the subject in a more playful
way. We want to put questions and try to initiate/activate a critical debate on
the topic.
This can be realized by
different genres of video: short documentation, videomusicclip, advertisement
clips, images-sound-samples…
topics could be e.g.:
Gender and the social
structure of the city
Gender und architecture
Gender and public/private
spaces of the city
Gender and (recent) history
of the city
Gender and consumism/advertisement
Gender and sounds of the
city
Gender and labour
Gender and art in public
space
....
